Reg A+ “Mini-IPOs” Outnumber Traditional IPOs

So far this year, there have been 68 conventional IPOs compared to 81 Reg A+ mini-IPOs.

While the traditional IPO market has dropped considerably from 2015 (this time last year there had already been 138 conventional IPOs), mini-IPOs are in their infancy. The mini-IPO via Reg A+ has only been around since June 2015.

Reg A+ has its limitations, especially for larger IPOs, but for smaller companies it is a very attractive option.  As a less expensive and faster process, its easy to see why so many companies have chosen the Reg A+ path.

Time will tell if Reg A+ “Mini-IPOs” continue to outnumber traditional IPOs or if this is just a temporary balance.
