Upcoming MicroCap Event: LD Micro Invitational
We recently caught up with Chris Lahiji, of the LD Micro Invitational, to learn more about his Los Angeles event planed for June 6th -7th.
According to their website “The 7th Annual LD Micro Invitational will highlight some of the best names in the micro-cap space. We will open on the evening of June 5th with speakers and panels (tbd). On the 6th, over 100 names will be presenting throughout the day. On the 7th, we will shake things up, with companies across three unique themes presenting: Reg A+, “The Best of Buy-Side”, and “Show Me the Money” which focuses solely on names with large insider buying over the past year.”
Lahiji, a well known figure in the microcap space (perhaps best known for his lighthearted sense of humor) filled us in on the LD Micro Invitational.
When and where is the LD Micro Invitational held? How did you decide on that location?
Chris Lahiji: “Luxe Sunset Bel Air because the General Manager was a Homey of mine.”
How would you best describe the event? Is it an investor conference with company presentations, dinner meeting, networking, speakers, 1-on-1s, etc.?
Lahiji: “Everything mentioned and beyond.”
Any interesting sponsors?
Lahiji: “We Have Great Sponsors that are Loyal and Believe in Our Vision”
Last year, John McAfee was your secret keynote speaker (video below). Any panels or keynotes planned this year?
Lahiji: “Yes. Secret keynote is coming back.”
What is LD Micro’s event history?
Lahiji: “We have done over 20 events in the past decade. Our goal was to be the #1 independent resource in the micro / small cap space.”
How many attendees do you expect at the LD Micro Invitational?
Lahiji: “180 companies, nearly 1000 people”
Who should attend and why?
Lahiji: “People Who Want to Connect with Management Teams and Other Like Minded Investors”
How do companies qualify to present? What size and type of MicroCap public companies should attend?
Lahiji: “We screen each company on a case by case basis. Size does not matter as long as it is compelling to the audience.”
How do potential attendees register?
Lahiji: “Contact David@ldmicro.com”
Is there a deadline to register?
Lahiji: “Yes. May 30th.”
How much does it cost to attend?
Lahiji: “It’s expensive, but you get what you pay for.”
Anything else potential attendees should know?
Lahiji: “I still have a missing shoe from the last event we did. I mean, I am hoping that someone ultimately wants their shoe back. I love Tod’s, but I am a size 12 (this is an 10) and it is navy blue (prefer black). Please, for the love of God, just e-mail David and get your damn shoe back. It is just weird looking at. One guy was screwing with us and said it was his. We need confirmation of the other shoe’s existence. Dear God, please help me.”
