QBie™ Spotlight joins Dr. Jack Regan, Founder and CEO of Lexagene Holdings Inc. (OTCQB: LXXGF), to discuss one of the OTCQB’s newest additions. LXXGF joined the OTCQB on February 21, 2017.  

What does Lexagene do?

Dr. Jack Regan (CEO – OTCQB: LXXGF):  “LexaGene is in the business of detecting pathogens. We build automated instruments so that the people working on the front-lines can perform tests that normally would require a highly skilled microbiologist. Our instrument can screen samples for 22 pathogens and return results in ~ 1 hour. It also allows end-users to customize their screens, which is a feature not available in any other automated instrument. We can even detect the presence of antibiotic resistance and virulence genes. We anticipate selling our technology into markets where speed and ease of use are important, namely: medical clinics, veterinary hospitals, food packaging plants, municipalities that monitor water quality, and even aquaculture and poultry farms where disease spread can cause total crop loss.”   

What is the next big goal LXXGF is trying to accomplish/what should we keep an eye out for? 

Jack Regan: “We anticipate finishing our alpha prototype in November, 2017. This instrument will be able to process six samples at a time, where each sample is concentrated, the genetic material is purified, and 22 pathogen tests are performed.“

Jack Regan: “We joined the OTCQB since we felt like the company’s technology and mission statement – of providing instruments for customized pathogen detection – resonates with so many people, and being public allows us to include anyone who wants to be a part of something so exciting and disruptive.”
