2017 Russell MicroCap Index Reconstitution
Last Friday, preliminary 2017 additions and deletions to the Russell MicroCap Index were communicated to the marketplace.
The first preliminary list of additions and deletions was shared on June 9, with an additional update on June 16 and a final update scheduled for June 23. The newly reconstituted indexes take effect after the close on Friday, June 23.
Russell Microcap Index is a capitalization weighted index of 2,000 small cap and micro cap stocks that captures the smallest 1,000 companies in the Russell 2000, plus 1,000 smaller U.S.-based listed stocks. The broad index is designed to present an unbiased collection of the smallest tradable securities that still meet exchange listing requirements, so over-the-counter (OTC) stocks and pink sheet securities are excluded.
