Expert Shares Advice for SmallCap Management Dealing With Short Sellers


Many microcap management teams worry about ‘short sellers’ crippling their fragile stocks. While some of these worries are more legitimate than others, one former hedge fund manager recently shared some very good advice about dealing with short sellers.

A retired hedge fund manager named Marc Cohodes has been a short seller for 30 years as a partner — and then general partner — of a prominent short-biased hedge fund. Because of Cohodes’ experience, he recently receive an inquiry from an attorney of a small cap public company seeking help dealing with short sellers. 

Cohodes offered the following simple advice for dealing with short sellers;

Buckle down, execute on your plan and try to be as open as possible. The stock [price] will take care of itself
