Upcoming MicroCap Event: Dawson James 3rd Annual Small Cap Growth Conference

We recently caught up with Elise Stern – Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets at Dawson James Securities, Inc. – to learn more about the Dawson James 3rd Annual Small Cap Growth Conference. Q&A below.

When and where is the event held? How did you decide on that location?

Elise Stern: “Oct. 18-19th in Jupiter, Florida at the Wyndham Grand. It is a beautiful warm and sunny destination; Dawson James utilizes the entire conference space and our attendees are “captive” and don’t leave to run back to their offices as they often do in a NYC location.”

How would you best describe the event?

Stern: “It is a two-track event with 30 minute company presentations with Q&A and both opening and closing networking receptions. There is availability for one:one meetings with CEO/CFO’s of the presenting companies but these are primarily held for institutional investors and select brokers. ”

Who hosts the event? Any interesting sponsors?

Stern: “The event is sponsored by the companies and Corporate Sponsors including Schiff Hardin, Ellenoff Grossman, Sichenzia Ross Ference Kesner, M2 Compliance, Nasdaq, CoreIR , Marcum, Stock News Now and others. ”

Any panels or keynotes planned?

Stern: “There is a panel discussion planned for Wednesday evening “The Convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare – New Developments in Precision Medicine” which will be led by Panna Sharma, CEO of Cancer Genetics. We also host an invite only “Up List Boot Camp” which is attended by any OTC listed company who is seeking an up list to a higher national exchange. This panel includes discussions on Concurrent Capital Raising with an Up List, Nasdaq requirements (with a Nasdaq representative); the legal steps along with key auditing needs and pre and post Investor Relations.”

What is the event’s history?

Stern: “This is our 3rd Annual conference and it is an opportunity for Presenting Companies to share their stories with our retail broker network and clients to gain exposure and interest/liquidity in their stocks.”

How many attendees do you expect at this event?

Stern: “We expect 250 attendees including presenting company management teams, high net worth individuals, family offices and small cap sector focused funds. It is also attended by our broker network and syndicate partners. ”

Who should attend and why?

Stern: “Anyone who is interested in small cap growth investing. Any company seeking exposure to potential investors and who might benefit from seeing other company presentations. Anyone who wants to network with C-Suite level management and high net worth individuals/family offices.”

What size and type of MicroCap public companies should attend? How do they qualify/present?

Stern: “Only those microcap companies who are NASDAQ/NYSE listed may present. These may include companies in our Research Universe and any other companies we have identified that we believe fit the focus and parameters of our investor base. Any company who is not currently on a National Exchange can join our Boot Camp for a modest fee. This is a sit down lunch in conjunction with the event which they may also attend for the rest of the day at no additional cost. ”

How do potential attendees register?

Stern: “They can register at the Dawson James website under conferences: www.dawsonjames.com.”

Is there a deadline to register?

Stern: “They can usually register up until that day”

How much does it cost to attend?

Stern: “It is free to attend and includes breakfast and boxed lunch/cocktails.”

Anything else potential attendees should know?

Stern: “We are quite proud of this event and the opportunity it presents for our corporate and investment clients and look forward to another successful year. Thank you! ”
