LD Micro announced this morning that the LD Micro Main Event “is CANCELLED due to fire and air quality concerns.”
The microcap conference was being held at the Luxe Sunset Bel Air in Los Angeles. The conference was hosting over 1,000 attendees with about 250 microcap companies.
The event began on December 4th and was scheduled to run through the 7th.
Yesterday was the first full day of the event with company presentations and panels on “The State of Micro-Cap” and “The Blockchain Revolution.”
On the first days of the event, attendees were given masks due to air quality concerns.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection confirmed to CNBC that at least three fires are burning out of control in the Los Angeles area today. More than 50 schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District are closed Wednesday, as officials clear evacuated areas and warn against the dangers of smoke and ash.
