LD Micro Index Reconstituted To Include 1,014 MicroCap Stocks
As of January 31, 2018, the LD Micro Index has been reconstituted!
The LD Micro Index is designed to give the most accurate representation of the intraday activity of microcap stocks in North America. We employ a mixture of screening for inclusion and manual exclusion where deemed appropriate. The index is market cap weighted and is comprised of approximately 1,014 microcap stocks in the U.S. and Canada.
With this reconstitution, the average market cap in the index declined slightly, by $4m, to $143m. This means more small companies now make up the index. The number of constituents in the index went from 936 at last constitution to 1,014 because a lot of smaller companies met the criteria.
OTC Markets’ companies, previously 4.81% of the index, now make up 7.5% – likely due to smaller stocks surging. Likewise, the TSX Venture went from 6.74% of index constituents previously to 10.65%.
