Upcoming MicroCap Event: Sidoti & Company Spring 2018 Conference

Upcoming MicroCap Event: Sidoti & Company Spring 2018 Conference
We recently caught up with Caitlin Adams, Director of Marketing & Events at Sidoti & Co, to discuss the Sidoti & Company Spring 2018 Conference planned for March 29th, 2018 in New York City.
Q&A below:
When and where is the event held? How did you decide on that location?
Caitlin Adams: “The conference is held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. It is really exciting to step into the ballroom and feel the energy of the room. The open floor plan really allows you to get the full scope of the conference. You are in a room surrounded by some of the best small- and micro-cap management teams as well as the best portfolio managers, analysts and investors in the small- and micro-cap space.”
How would you best describe the event?
Caitlin Adams: “This is a true investor conference. Companies host a 30 minute presentation as well as 30 minute 1x1s. The real focus of this conference is high quality 1×1 meetings.”
Who hosts the Sidoti & Company Conference?
Caitlin Adams: “We do. We have been in business since 1999 as a broker dealer and the preeminent provider of small and micro-cap research on Wall St.”
Any interesting sponsors?
Caitlin Adams: “Roth Capital is the exclusive investment banking sponsor. Issuer Direct will be hosting the webcasting and issuing press releases for participating companies. Harter Secrest & Emery LLP is our legal sponsor.”
How many attendees do you expect at this event?
Caitlin Adams: “We currently have 112 participating companies and have a waitlist of companies that want to attend. We are anticipating close to 800 investors.”
What size and type of MicroCap public companies should attend? How do they qualify/present?
Caitlin Adams: “Day in and day out Sidoti & Company works with small and micro-cap investors. We leverage our long standing relationships with our institutional clients as well as our network of family offices and high net worth individuals to deliver a very intense schedule of 1x1s with investors who are truly interested in discovering and investing in high-quality companies. Companies have an average of 10 scheduled meetings. We serve companies with market caps between $30m and $4b. The average market cap of our participating company is about $700m. This conference is the only conference geared towards companies serious about meeting with institutional investors.
We started collecting feedback from management teams after our conferences. Here is what some of them had to say:
“The Sidoti conference was the best conference I have attended in years in terms of performance and productivity. The overall turnout, ten 1×1 meetings and the fluid nature in which additional “on the fly” meeting requests were expertly accommodated, and the professionalism of the team was outstanding.”
– CFO of a $1.6B services company
“The Sidoti conference exceeded all of my expectations. As a result of the [Sidoti] conference team efforts, I met with quality investors and I believe my day was extremely productive. I enjoyed that people would come and sit at my table for impromptu meetings, and at times, 1 on 1 meetings became 1 on 2, 3, and more meetings, with lively and pertinent dialogue. In addition to the meetings, my presentation was very well attended. It was a well- organized, well run and well attended conference and I believe an excellent forum to meet a wide range of investors.”
– Sr. executive $900M financial company
“I know that some [1×1] requests were turned down because we were completely booked. The conference was very good from our perspective all the way around.”
– CEO of $386M consumer products company
The CEO of a company that had just attended a Deutsche Bank telecom conference prior to the Sidoti conference, relayed about his Sidoti 1×1 schedule, “We’re getting many more 1-1 requests than expected. We seem to be a big draw, we even have a wait list for 1-1’s – I don’t think we’ve ever had this strong of a demand before.”
How do potential attendees register?
Caitlin Adams: “Please visit: Sidoti & Company Spring 2018 Conference”
Is there a deadline to register?
Caitlin Adams: “Investors can register up to the week of the conference. 1x1s are open now and companies are confirming their schedules so we would encourage people to sign up now. We aren’t accepting any new companies; at this point we are at capacity.”
How much does it cost to attend?
Caitlin Adams: “Registration is open and free to accredited investors.”
Anything else potential attendees should know?
Caitlin Adams: “We are 30% into filling our September conference. So any companies looking to attend a Sidoti conference should reach out sooner rather than later. Companies can contact me: Caitlin Adams, cadams@sidoti.com for more info.”
