Looming Trade War Has Investors Turning To SmallCap Stocks
A new Wall Street Journal article by Jon Sindreu looks at how the looming trade war has investors turning to smallcap stocks.
The S&P SmallCap 600 is up about 12% this year while the S&P 500 is up 3.5%. Because most smaller companies earn most of their income at home, they are more insulated from overseas turmoil than larger companies.
The article quotes Angus Sippe, a fund manager at Schroders (£447 billion under management) as saying; “We continue to like small-cap equities because they have a more domestic focus, less impacted by trade or dollar fluctuations.”
